Zara, Inditex’s flagship brand, is set to unveil its largest-ever store in Rotterdam, Netherlands, this fall, spanning an impressive 9,000 square meters. The CEO of Inditex, Óscar García-Maceiras, confirmed this expansion, which will also include a Zara Home section. This mega store will surpass the Plaza de España store in Madrid, with an area of nearly 8,000 square meters, that was among the largest Zara stores globally.
Inditex’s CEO also shared plans for Zara’s expansion in the US, announcing the opening of Zara Miami Dadeland, Zara Roosevelt Field Mall in New York, and Zara Baton Rouge in Louisiana. These ventures are part of a larger plan encompassing 30 projects within the United States.
Recently, Inditex reported exceptional first fiscal semester results, achieving a record profit of € 2.5 billion, marking a remarkable 40.1 per cent increase from the same period in 2022. Notably, the Zara and Zara Home brands contributed significantly to this success, with net sales growing by 13.1 per cent during the first semester, reaching an impressive € 12.362 billion.
In January 2022, Zara boasted a global network of over 2,000 stores, complemented by more than 500 Zara Home stores. In addition to the US expansion, the brand is making strides in India, with 21 retail outlets and the largest store located in Mumbai.
