CHICO — Chico Marketplace is on the lookout for young entrepreneurs.
The young business contest, Biz Kidz, is an annual event which gives young entrepreneurs the chance to enter their business ideas to sell their products at the mall on Aug. 5. The contest launched June 14 and will continue through July 7. Children ages six through 11 and 12-17 may enter. This event is sponsored by ChicoStart and Chico State.
The entry form for the event may be found at ShopChicoMarketplace.com/biz-kidz. Six to eight businesses from each age group will be chosen.
The selected entrepreneurs will be eligible for prizes for both age groups; $150 gift cards will be handed
out to the Best Overall Entrepreneurs and a grand prize of a $250 gift card, including a one-hour meeting with
Eva Shepherd-Nicoll, executive director, ChicoStart and the director for the Center for Entrepreneurship for Chico State, will be awarded for the best overall business.
