WSJ News Exclusive | Vista Equity Partners Agrees to $4 Billion Buyout of EngageSmart

Vista Equity Partners struck a $4 billion deal Monday to acquire business-software company EngageSmart, a sizable buyout at a time when many private-equity firms are sitting on the sidelines.

Vista is offering shareholders in the customer engagement and payments software specialist $23 a share. The Wall Street Journal reported earlier that a deal was close. EngageSmart stock jumped more than 10% in premarket trading to trade near the bid price.
