After making it all the way to the final three, Megan Hornby returned to Hull after getting fired on The Apprentice.

In the interview episode of the show, Megan’s intense dressing-down courtesy of Baroness Brady sent shockwaves on social media. Waking up the day after the episode aired on March 16, Meghan says she was touched by all the words of support from viewers.

“It was bloomin’ brutal wasn’t it, Burnsy! She’s a tough old act is our Karen. That clip has gone absolutely viral!”, she explained following the frosty reception following her interview.

Karen explained that her Hull business venture, Club Candy, was one of the most unique pitches that she heard in her career.

“‘So you’re a sweet shop and desert parlour in the day, and a cocktail bar in the evening. Over my 30-year career, I have seen thousands of business plans. Your one is as crazy as it gets.” the West Ham vice-chairman said.

Business plans at this stage are usually supported by a 50-page business plan. Due to Megan’s ties with the business, which opened a mere month before heading to London for filming, Burnsy even admits was “fairly bobbins”.

Despite the on-screen setback, the 25-year-old was grateful for the opportunity, saying: “I don’t think I did myself an injustice. I was never expecting to win, I don’t think he would’ve invested in the same business two years in a row.”

Last season, 31-year-old Harpreet Kaur won Alan Sugar’s investment with her Oh So Yum dessert business. Megan then gave an update on what is next for the young entrepreneur.

After waking up to 300 notifications and a great public reception, Megan says “the world is my oyster at the minute and I’m just trying to decide which road to take,” while investment and job offers have already flooded in.

“The only reason id work with somebody else is to run and own, I would never be an MD or CEO. I’m ready for my next challenge, my business is running smoothly.”

While she’s looking for a partner for her Hull Restaurant as a managing director, Megan quips, “They better have a better [business plan] than mine that’s for sure!”

Despite the frosty interview, The Baroness and Megan later had a “lovely chat”, with the formidable aide even giving her permission to address her as Karen, something only reserved for friends.

The Final of The Apprentice airs on Thursday, March 23 at 9 pm, where Marnie Swindells and Rochelle Anthony will battle it out in an all-female final for Alan Sugar’s £250,000 investment.
