UTA is beefing up its TV news representation business, hiring former ABC News VP of talent development Mary Noonan as an agent. Noonan will report to UTA Partner and news & broadcasting head Peter Goldberg.
Noonan led ABC News’ talent department for 9 years, recruiting and hiring dozens of anchors, correspondents, and other on and off-air talent. She left earlier this year in The Walt Disney Co.’s larger corporate restructuring.
“We have long enjoyed a collaborative relationship with Mary and welcoming her to the team feels like a natural progression for both of us,” Goldberg said in a statement. “Her experience is unparalleled, and she has a keen eye for the kind of distinctive talent that distinguishes our News & Broadcasting roster.”
“Over the years UTA clients have often been at the core of my work, having hired and nurtured some of the most esteemed talent in the industry, so I’m thrilled to continue that relationship by joining the agency’s prominent News & Broadcasting team,” Noonan added.
Before joining ABC, Noonan worked as both a journalist and an executive, working as a producer at both CBS News and for CNBC, and serving as CBS news’ director of talent development.
