Cappadoro joined USC as the Deputy Athletic Director, Chief Operating Officer, on September 11. His oversight includes facilities and operations, capital projects, event management, business/finance, human resources and contracts, risk management, IT and equipment. He will serve as the primary liaison to the University’s Office of General Counsel and as the sport administrator for women’s basketball. Cappadoro most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer at the University of Washington. Prior to his time at UW, he served as the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Business Operations at Fresno State, as the Director of Finance in the University of Denver athletic department and as the Assistant Athletic Director at the Stevens Institution of Technology in New Jersey, where he also held the role of assistant women’s lacrosse coach. Prior to his start in athletics, Cappadoro was a stock loan trader for Lazard Capital Market and held a similar position with ICAP Securities. He is a graduate of Stony Brook University in New York, where he was a four-year member of the men’s lacrosse team and went on to receive his MBA from Seton Hall.
Hilbrands will serve as Deputy Athletic Director for External and Chief of Staff, overseeing all external units including marketing, development, ticket sales and service, business intelligence, branding, communications, public relations, creative teams, NIL, strategic partnerships/licensing and multimedia rights. He joined USC on October 2 and will be the department’s chief spokesperson and sport administrator for the football program. Hilbrands comes to Los Angeles from the University of Washington, where he served for the last six years, most recently as the Deputy Athletic Director for External Relations overseeing ticket sales and service, marketing, public relations and communications, brand advancement and digital and social media as well as serving as the football sport administrator. Prior to his time at UW, he served in multiple leadership roles at the University of Northwestern (St. Paul) after serving as a graduate assistant in the athletic department at Grand Canyon University. Hilbrands was a four-year letterwinner with the Bethel football program and part of the 2013 MIAC championship team.
Kwok has been promoted to Deputy Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Senior Woman Administrator, overseeing athletics admissions, academic advising and support, personal and career development, student services, department Title IX and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion programming. Kwok will provide oversight and be the primary point of administrative contact for USC Athletic Medicine (sport psychology, nutrition, athletic training) and Office of Athletics Compliance and will serve as the sport administrator for beach volleyball. In the critical role of Senior Woman Administrator, Kwok will represent the department on Conference matters. Prior to her role as Interim Executive Administrator and Executive Senior Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development, Kwok served as the Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Academic Services, as an Assistant Athletic Director and as the Assistant Vice Provost for Undergraduate Programs at USC. Kwok earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology at USC Rossier School of Education and has been with the Trojans since 2004.
