The United State African Development Foundation (USADF) and Lagos State government have given a grant of $85,000 to Oriki global and synergy to establish a spa and wellness entrepreneurship hub in the state.

The grant, which was given through Lagos State Entrepreneurship Trust Fund (LSETF), with technical support from Diamond Development Initiatives (DDI), was aimed at providing essential economic empowerment and skill improvement opportunities for wellness entrepreneurs in the state.

This was disclosed in a statement, signed by USADF through its Head, Corporate Communications, Lucky Ihanza to announce the signing of the agreement with Oriki.

President and Chief Executive Officer, USADF, Travis Adkins, said the organisation was proud to support Oriki Global in its mission to empower wellness entrepreneurs in Nigeria, noting that the partnership aligns with USADF’s commitment to fostering economic development and entrepreneurship in African communities.

He said: “The most positive thing to do is to hope for the success of the initiative; the most powerful thing to do is to pray for the success of this initiative; but the most practical thing to do is to invest in this initiative. On this note, I sign the document.”

Acting Executive Secretary of LSETF, Omolara Adewumi, stressed the State Government’s dedication to job creation in line with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s ‘THEME PLUS’ agenda, noting that the collaboration with Oriki and USADF marks a substantial stride towards the actualisation of this vision.

“LSETF is committed to fostering opportunities for Lagosians to turn their entrepreneurial aspirations into reality.”

On his part, Executive Director of DDI, Adamu Garba emphasised the importance of local support, while expressing optimism that the initiative would create a positive impact on the wellness sector.

“DDI is honoured to provide technical assistance in partnership with USADF to facilitate the success of Oriki’s spa & wellness entrepreneurship hub,” he said.
