University of Pennsylvania President Liz Magill resigned Saturday, capping a tumultuous week at the Ivy League school stemming from statements she made about antisemitism at a congressional hearing Tuesday.

Magill will stay on until an interim president is appointed, and afterward will remain a member of the law school faculty, according to a letter sent from Scott Bok, chairman of the university’s board of trustees.
