United Airlines has agreed to purchase up to 1 billion gallons of sustainable aviation fuel from Cemvita Corp.’s first full-scale SAF plant, the fuel producer announced Wednesday.
Under the agreement, Houston-based Cemvita would supply United with up to 50 million gallons of SAF made from CO2 annually for 20 years. The companies disclosed neither the value of the deal nor when the plant would be operational. United’s corporate venture fund in March 2022 invested in Cemvita to commercialize the production of SAF.
