UK’s Hammerson in talks to exit JV with mall operator URW – Sky News

April 20 (Reuters) – British shopping centre owner Hammerson Plc (HMSO.L) is in talks with European peer Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield (URW) (URW.PA) to exit their Croydon joint venture, Sky news reported on Thursday.

Hammerson is under pressure from its largest shareholder, Lighthouse, which recently said it did not have confidence in the present board and recommended two new appointments.

Both, Hammerson and URW declined to comment on the report.

Hammerson entered into a 50-50 partnership in 2013 to redevelop the Croydon shopping centre with Westfield, now part of URW, which is Europe’s biggest property owner.
