The British Defence Secretary has said that the UK will “bolster” Ukraine’s air defences and will send a shipment of hundreds of air defence missiles.
The UK will help Ukraine with air defences to defend themselves against Russia’s aggression following the “massive” missile and drone attack on Friday.
Ukraine was rocked by explosions in the “biggest attack to date” as Russian bombers launched “dozens” of missiles.

Putin warned British troops are locked and loaded and ‘ready to take the lead’ to defend NATO against Russia
Friday’s attack was the most devastating attack since the war started on 24 February 2022 as multiple cities were rocked by “enormous” explosions.
Widespread damage was caused in the attacks which rocked Kyiv, Odesa, Kharkiv and Dnipro and video footage shows a high-rise block of apartments a blaze.
Grant Shapps said that Vladimir Putin is “testing Ukraine’s defences” and the world must now “come together” to help Ukraine win.
Shapps said, “The UK is moving rapidly to bolster Ukraine’s air defence, in the wake of Putin’s murderous air strikes.
“Hundreds of British made air defence missiles are being sent to ensure Ukraine has what it needs to defend itself from Putin’s barbaric bombardment. Slava Ukraini.”
He added, “Putin in testing Ukraine’s defences and the West’s resolve – now is the time for the world to come together and redouble our efforts to get Ukraine what they need to win.”
