Barbados will host an international afrobeats festival from February 22 to 25, 2024.

This was announced on Friday evening in Times Square, New York City, by Barbados’ former Ambassador to Geneva, Chad Blackman, as he spoke in his capacity as festival’s founder.

Addressing an audience that included media, record label executives, leading fashion industry players, NY’s business community, and a cross-section of attendees from the Caribbean and African in Diaspora, Blackman disclosed that the other launches will be held in Lagos, London and Barbados.

He also mentioned, how pleased he was, that The Guardian (Nigeria), Starcom Network Inc, and Mocha Media, had joined the festival as official partners, with many more about to come on board.

Blackman indicated that The Guardian joining the festival’s partners signalled its commitment to deepening ties with Africans in Diaspora, adding that the show would attract patrons from North America, Europe and the Caribbean.

“Guardian Newspaper Nigeria is a significant partner for us, given their rich tradition of leading coverage of news and events in Nigeria, and on the African continent. We look forward to growing our partnership with them, as the festival grows in the years to come,” Blackman said.
