The cabins are a new investment for the annual Christmas market
More than 50 wooden cabins are staging traders’ wares at the Truro Christmas market this year.
Graham Bradshaw, chairman of Truro Farmers Market, which hosts the Lemon Quay event, said the 56 cabins were “nice and warm” for sellers.
More than £120,000 of private investment paid for the huts, he said, which would be used “at events throughout the year”.
“We’re getting a lot of nice feedback,” he said.

“People are liking them, it’s something different,” he added.
“They are nice and warm and on a day like today that’s exactly the reason we wanted them.
“It happens in other cities and it’s nice that it’s moved down to here.”

Mr Bradshaw added: “A lot of the traders have taken the cabins for nearly a month.
“We’ve got quite a few businesses who are sharing.
“With the whole four weeks that we’ve got and the chance of using them elsewhere, I think the money will come back quite steadily.”
The market was due to run until Christmas Eve, he added.
Meanwhile, Cornwall Council has said parking will be free in all its pay and display and pay on exit car parks on 2 December, to mark Small Business Saturday.
The national initiative was aimed at “encouraging consumers to shop local”, it said.
Richard Pears-Williams, Cornwall Council cabinet portfolio holder for transport, said using a free car park or leaving the car and taking the bus were both good options with fees for Truro park and ride also waived.
