Travel Counsellors has achieved record booking levels for UK corporate sales as the homeworking specialist broke through the £200 million annual barrier for the first time.

The Manchester-based company saw total transaction value (TTV), including leisure sales, rise by 23 per cent year-on-year to reach £933 million for the 12 months ending on 31 October. UK corporate bookings increased by 24 per cent to £209 million over this period.

Travel Counsellors, which is owned by private equity firm Vitruvian Partners, had already announced that it had reached the £200 million milestone for total corporate travel sales in September. Travel Counsellors for Business ranked as the 14th largest TMC in the UK in BTN Europe’s list of the leading TMCs.

Steve Byrne, CEO of Travel Counsellors, said that the sales figures reflected “an amazing year” for the company.

“We achieved continued transformational growth by disrupting the travel market and welcomed a record number of new customers who trusted our community of outstanding travel counsellors with their leisure and corporate travel needs,” he added.

“Our very strong performance once again demonstrates the strength of our differentiated, disruptive and scalable business model, as well as growing customer demand for our trusted and personal travel advice.

“Looking forward, I am extremely confident that we are exceptionally well placed to achieve further significant growth over the coming years. Our current trading remains very strong, and we already have more than £350 million of departures booked for 2024, which is up 30 per cent on where we were at the comparable time in 2023.”
