Travel Counsellors for Business has announced “record-breaking” sales of £200 million after acquiring more than 1,400 new SME clients in the company’s current financial year.
The homeworking specialist, which is based in Manchester, said that its business travel sales for the first 10 months of its financial year, up to the start of September 2023, had increased by 32 per cent on sales achieved for the whole of the previous financial year. They were also up by 47 per cent on pre-Covid figures in 2019.
This success has taken overall corporate sales for Travel Counsellors above the £200 million mark for the first time – Travel Counsellors for Business ranked as the 14th largest TMC in the UK in BTN Europe’s list of the leading TMCs with gross UK sales of £190 million in 2022.
Kieran Hartwell, managing director of corporate at Travel Counsellors, said: “Our client base is diverse, from management consultancies and marketing firms to sports teams and TV production crews, and taking the time to understand their exact travel requirements is critical.
“This exciting milestone is testament to the care and commitment of our fantastic Travel Counsellors, empowered by our high-touch, digitally enabled platform.
“We are focused on continuously enhancing the support, technology and tools available to our community to help them unlock further growth, while delivering the best possible service and trusted travel advice to corporate clients.”
Currently around 600 Travel Counsellors specialise in offering corporate travel services to SMEs in the UK and globally. This includes more than 20 new corporate specialist homeworkers joining Travel Counsellors this year.
The SME business travel market is becoming more competitive as global TMCs, such as American Express Global Business Travel and CWT, increasingly target these smaller clients as part of their growth strategy.
