Conference

In our Three to See column, we suggest a trio of networking, professional development, and business-related events to help grow your business, brand, or self.

Small Business Help Desk

1-3 p.m. | Jan. 2

Redmond Library, Redmond

Whether it’s a small-business owner who is looking for advice for their already-thriving enterprise or an entrepreneur who has a business idea and doesn’t know where to start, the Small Business Help Desk at the Redmond Library is a font of knowledge. The event provides free, in-person business coaching by counselors from Business Impact NW. Can’t make it this month? The help desk is hosted regularly each month. Visit the library website to register in advance.

Building Relationships Breakfast

7:30-9 a.m. | Jan. 11

Fairwinds Brittany Park, Woodinville

Calling all small-business owners: Join the Woodinville Chamber for this early morning event, and hear from Rachel Morgan, a retail sales veteran in online and in-person luxury retail, on mastering timely and confident follow-ups, how to maintain relationships and close deals, and how to use those relationships toward future sales opportunities. Tickets are $18 for chamber members and $23 for nonmembers. RSVP online at woodinvillechamber.org

Managing Millennials & Gen Zers

9 a.m.-noon | Feb. 10

Virtual

Believe it or not, most millennials now are in their 30s and 40s, with the next generation, Gen Z, hot on their heels. Even when small-business owners hail from one of these two generations, it can be difficult to understand the segment’s values and workflow when they came up under baby boomer and Gen X leadership. Cue this online seminar aimed at Bellevue small-business owners on how to overcome generational biases and stereotypes to hire the best young (and middle-aged) talent. Tickets available on Eventbrite; prices vary.
