What is The Twilight Saga?
Based on Stephanie Meyer’s bestselling novel series of the same name, The Twilight Saga centers around the forbidden romance between high school student Bella Swan and the mysterious Edward Cullen, who turns out to be part of a vampire coven. Throughout the films, their love gets challenged by various threats including nomadic vampires, werewolves, and a powerful vampire council.
The franchise was led by Oscar nominee Kristen Stewart, The Batman’s Robert Pattinson, whose respective performances as Bella and Edward launched them into international stardom. It also starred Taylor Lautner as Jacob Black, Peter Facinelli as Carlisle Cullen, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme Cullen, Ashley Greene as Alice Cullen, Kellan Lutz as Emmett Cullen, Nikki Reed as Rosalie Hale, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper Cullen, Billy Burke as Charlie Swan, Michael Sheen as Aro, Dakota Fanning as Jane, and more.
The Twilight Saga franchise had garnered a combined worldwide gross of over $3.3 billion at the box office. It has been recently reported that Lionsgate may develop a TV adaptation of the Meyer’s novel series, with Sinead Daly attached to write the project.
