The shop in Sutton where a simple hobby became a small business

Lovingly Made was started in 2019 as a hobby by 47-year-old Samantha Taylor, and it has now become a small business.

Lovingly Made, located at 8 Ambleside Garden, personalises items from hoodies to t-shirts, pillow cases and Christmas wreaths.

All the items are made personally by Samantha herself.

Lovingly Made will be taking its final orders on Small Business Saturday for the year.

Small Business Saturday is a day dedicated to supporting local and independently run businesses.

As with many small businesses, Lovingly Made has been struggling with the cost-of-living crisis.

Samantha said: “People haven’t got enough money any more to buy from here.

“My suppliers’ prices have gone up by 25 per cent.

“My courier prices have gone up by 50 per cent.”

As the final month of the year approaches, Samantha is taking in the last of 2023’s orders as we reach the busiest time of the year.

She added: “It’s the busiest time of the year and my favourite thing is when a customer doesn’t know what they want.

“So, I come up with a design for them.

“I can just sit there, and I have everything around me and let my creativity flow.”

Samantha never does Black Friday deals due to the “margins being so low”, but there will be promotions for Small Business Saturday.
