The Business of Events has announced the launch of the Global Destination Report Survey, a collaborative effort with IBTM World and Meet in Ireland.
The Global Destination Report aims to gather insights from destinations and convention bureaux around the world, shedding light on the current state of the business events industry and providing an overview of global event destinations.
Destinations and convention bureaux have been invited to complete the survey by 2 October. The survey findings will be unveiled at IBTM World, taking place from 28-30 November in Barcelona.
The research will be undertaken by industry specialists Sarah Flemming Associates.
The survey covers a range of topics such as relationships with government, funding, the value of business events to regions, and future-building.
David Boyce, head of emerging markets and business tourism, Meet in Ireland, said: “Research such as this is valuable for analysing the marketplace and to ensure destinations are both competitive and well-equipped to offer the very best event experiences.
“In the Republic of Ireland, we know the value of having a strong business events sector, and research such as the Global Destination Report helps us to advocate for a strong industry.”
Martin Fullard, director, news and content, The Business of Events, said: “Destinations play a vital role in advocating for a strong business events sector within their cities, regions or countries. They are on the front line of understanding buyer trends and are therefore well positioned to advocate for the sector.
“The industry has experienced an excellent bounce back over the last two years, and we expect the 2023 Global Destination Report to provide evidence of a continued upwards trend.”
