European high-speed rail operator Thalys has officially been rebranded as Eurostar following the merger of the two companies.
The brand for the enlarged Eurostar Group was launched in January and the Thalys name finally disappeared on Sunday (1 October).
Eurostar trains now operate in France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany and the UK, with the company also using a single website, booking system and app.
“While the name changes, the [Thalys] trains will remain the same. Customers can easily recognise them on the platform by their red colour, now featuring a Eurostar logo. Departure and arrival times will also remain unchanged,” said the company in a statement.
The rail group has already unveiled ambitions to double traffic up to 30 million passengers per year by 2030 following the integration of the two brands.
