A federal appeals court has ordered the state of Texas to remove a 1,000-foot floating barrier deployed in the Rio Grande to block migrants from crossing the border illegally.

A three-judge panel of the Fifth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 Friday to reinstate a lower court’s ruling that the barrier illegally blocked the river and should be taken out of the water.
