Judi Terzotis, publisher of The Times-Picayune | The Advocate | NOLA.com, has been appointed to the board of the Local Media Association.
LMA is a trade association made up of more than 3,000 newspapers, TV stations, radio stations and digital publications with a focus on reinventing business models for news.
Terzotis said the LMA’s work is central to the newspapers’ mission of growing the resources that fund their newsgathering efforts.
“I’m honored to be on this board and excited about it,” she said. “It’s about the stability and sustainability of journalism. It’s about, how do we protect the local journalism that keeps a community vibrant and keeps public officials accountable.”
Terzotis has been with Georges Media Group since 2018. In 2022, she was named Editor & Publisher Magazine’s Publisher of the Year and the Baton Rouge Business Report’s Businessperson of the Year.
