TAP Air Portugal has launched a new direct service from Porto to Luanda, marking the carrier’s second service to the Angolan capital following its long-standing Lisbon-Luanda route.
The new twice-weekly service will depart Porto’s Francisco Sá Carneiro airport on Wednesday and Sunday at 1:30pm, and arrive in Luanda at 9:35pm local time. Flights from Luanda’s Quatro de Fevereiro airport will depart at 11:20pm and arrive into Porto at 7:45am the following day.
Flights on the route will be operated by Airbus A330neo aircraft, which include 34 fully-flat beds in ‘executive class’ and 264 seats in economy class.
Ricardo Dinis, TAP Air Portugal country manager for the UK, Ireland and Nordics, said: “We have flown to Luanda from Lisbon since 1957 and have seen the potential for greater opportunities in this market, so we know customers will welcome the launch of our new twice-weekly service from Porto.”
The new intercontinental route forms part of the carrier’s expansive summer schedule, which includes increased frequencies on several transatlantic routes from both its Lisbon and Porto hubs.
