European office products manufacturing group T3L has acquired a Denmark-based supplier through its Dutch subsidiary, Jalema.
The Danish company Poul Willumsen has produced marketed gift items – such as key rings and piggy banks – for more than 40 years for the European, North American and Japanese markets. The acquisition is part of T3L’s strategy to strengthen its European position in the market for personalised and promotional products. Group CEO Kim Berg said the deal represented “great business opportunities” for both its branded and non-branded operations.
In a statement to OPI, T3L confirmed it had acquired physical assets (tools and machinery), the commercial activity and the brand, with one sales director making the switch over to Jalema. The acquisition is being done through Jalema because of its injection moulding expertise, with the Poul Willumsen machinery currently being installed in its premises. However, T3L has stressed deliveries, sales and customer support will remain in full service throughout the move, with no disruption.
T3L – founded in 2008 through the merger of 3L and Tarifold – comprises several local producers: 3L Office Products and Probeco (Denmark), Jalema (Netherlands), Tarifold (France), and T3L USA.
