Reinsurance giant Swiss Re’s previously announced streamlined organisational structure, described by the firm as a simpler set-up with shorter decision paths that will result in enhanced client focus, is now live.
First announced back in February, the new structure sees the splitting of the firm’s reinsurance business unit into P&C Re and L&H Re, with each unit having full authority over their respective underwriting and claims management process.
The changes, which became effective today, are designed to simplify structures and improve efficiency and client experience, and also includes the reallocation of the responsibilities of the Group Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), and the appointment of leaders for the new divisions.
Within the new P&C Re unit, Urs Baertschi serves as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gianfranco Lot as CUO, and Nicola Parton as Chief Operating Officer (COO).
In L&H Re, Paul Murray serves as CEO, Julien Descombes as CUO, and Grace Wong as COO, with Jonathan Graham serving as Head of Financial Markets & Inforce Management.
There’s also been some changes within the firm’s Global Clients and Solutions unit, which contains the client management teams servicing the company’s global reinsurance clients, Public Sector Solutions, iptiQ, and Reinsurance Solutions.
Within this part of the business, Moses Ojeisekhoba serves as CEO of Global Clients and Solutions, Russell Higginbotham as CEO of Reinsurance Solutions, Veronica Scotti as Chairperson Public Sector Solutions, and Robert Burr as CEO of iptiQ.
