Aiming to promote sustainable fashion platform in Bangladesh, Sweden has shown interest to partner with the country’s apparel industry, in renewable energy.

As per a press release issued in this direction, the intention to do so was expressed at the first policy dialogue on ‘Sustainable Fashion Platform’, arranged by the Sweden Embassy in Bangladesh, together with the Swedish brands IKEA, Lindex and H&M, along with the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Sweden-Bangladesh Business Council.

The objective of the discussion, attended by Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury (Prime Minister’s power, energy and mineral resources affairs adviser) as the chief guest, is to scale up the Sweden-Bangladesh partnership in renewable energy within the apparel industry.

Swedish Ambassador to Bangladesh Alexandra Berg von Linde hosted the dialogue.
