SurerLocal InsurTech Surer announced a partnership with one of Singapore’s top general insurers, Zurich Insurance Company Ltd, which allows Surer’s broker and intermediary users to gain access to Zurich’s fully digital, fast-flow proposition, Zurich Swift Marine Cargo.

The integration of Zurich’s digital proposition enables Surer’s broker and intermediary users to seamlessly manage their clients’ marine cargo requirements. Operators can now obtain quotes instantly; bind covers and issue certificates or policies directly via the Surer platform.

“Along with Maid and Motor insurance, Marine Cargo is an insurance product that ranks among the top three products, by volume, being transacted on the Surer platform. As such, we have been on the lookout to partner and integrate with an insurer with best-in-class underwriting and tech capabilities specific to Marine Cargo,” said Derren Teo, Co-founder of Surer.

“Zurich is the perfect insurer to partner with, given the company’s expertise, technical agility and more importantly, a shared vision to help insurance brokers and intermediaries manage their business more effectively through technology.”

“We are extremely excited by the potential of this partnership for intermediaries and their clients when it comes to building greater efficiency of business placement, quote sourcing, binding and policy issuance,” said Derren.

Harry Taylor, Head of Marine at Zurich Singapore, concurred, “Zurich Swift Marine Cargo is a simple and reliable online platform that was created to better enable insurance intermediaries, allowing them to administer cargo insurance requirements anytime, anywhere. We’re delighted to be deepening our partnership with Surer to support their customers with market-leading services and fantastic user experiences, and essentially serve on our common commitment to make marine business more efficient for more insurance brokers and intermediaries.”

The Zurich-Surer partnership will also see both companies work together on other fast flow product lines.
