A social Impact Organisation, SuperWoman Organisation, has reiterated its commitment to empower 10,000 young women by 2030 through innovative training programmes.
Through its Girl Power Africa project, launched in 2020, the organisation pairs young business women with mentors, who in turn train them for free.
Founder, SuperWoman Organisation, Serena Francis, disclosed in a statement that the organisation introduced Social Media Management programme aimed at honing the skills of young women in online engagement this year. She explained that the training would be held solely online, enabling participants to join from across the world.
She stated that by embracing technology, the organisation has amplified its impact and widened its reach, adding that the project seeks to arm young Nigerian women with marketable skills that can significantly improve their livelihoods.
“Through a series of skill-based training programmes, comprehensive courses and valuable internships, the organisation is equipping participants with the tools to create multiple streams of income,” she said.
She noted that since its inception in 2020, the organisation has already succeeded in training over 500 young women physically.
“The plan is to train 10,000 in seven years not one year,” Francis said, highlighting the organisation’s intention to create a lasting impact over a reasonable timeframe.
Elaborating on the eligibility criteria for the training, Francis noted that participants must be African females aged between 16 and 30. “Applicants are required to submit their applications during the registration period, and those selected should possess a mobile device, access to data and have proficiency in English.
“The training programme spans six weeks per cohort, with two batches per quarter. An individual embarks on two consecutive batches – the first for training and the second for the internship programme,” she added.
Francis’s motivation stems from her belief in fostering continuous personal growth. Her experience as a member of the Meta’s Trainers Network, where she trained over 4000 entrepreneurs in Facebook and Instagram marketing techniques, has significantly contributed to her expertise.
