Nigerian female entrepreneurs have been advised to embrace the use of social media and other technological tools in advancing their businesses.
The Chief Executive Officer of Rewired African Network business brand, Emem Okwoche, advised a one-day business summit, tagged: ‘Empower Her Summit and Sales Exhibition 2023,’ held in Lagos State.
Okwoche noted that businesswomen across the nation and beyond needed to be technologically skilled through various social media platforms to expand their brands.
While appreciating female entrepreneurs’ contribution to the economic growth of the nation, she said: “At Rewired Africa Network, we are passionate about the growth and development of the Nigerian human resources, which is the critical element for achieving any societal goal and objective.
“We are aware of the socioeconomic challenges staring us in the face daily and even our great nation, Nigeria is not left out and we all will agree that it is our individual effort and business activities that gives life and hope to Nigeria as a country. It is from this premise that we decided to create a platform to re-skill and re-tool our women, who are the bedrock of the Nigerian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that become the life-wire of our nation.
“Today, we recognise the effort of our women in their businesses, we acknowledge the struggle you undergo to keep your businesses afloat. This understanding is what informed our desire to assist our women to upgrade their business capacities so they can thrive, blossom and succeed.”
While encouraging the women to get their businesses registered, a legal facilitator, Oheji Iji, insisted that no one has a business until the business is duly registered.
Iji added: “All kinds of businesses ranging from sole proprietorship, partnership, limited partnership, limited liability partnership and incorporated trustees are eligible to undergo registration as provided by the law.”
Reacting, an elated female entrepreneur, Abimbola Adeyemi, who is into local manufacturing of leather accessories, enjoined all female entrepreneurs to key into the impactful business programme to enable them to grow their brands in the market space.
