A new StretchLab is opening on 5500 Sunrise Highway in Massapequa on Jan. 15.
Other StretchLab franchises are located in Woodbury, Garden City, New Hyde Park and East Northport.
The center in Massapequa is owned by Ravi Shah.
“I’ve always wanted to own my own business, and after trying out StretchLab for the first time, it immediately sparked my interest,” Shah said in a written statement. “I realized that StretchLab is a concept that can be beneficial to everyone, regardless of their age and fitness level, and I wanted to bring one to my community.”
StretchLab offers personalized stretching services that concentrate on the client’s current stretching needs. There, team members hold a nationally recognized certificate in assisted stretching, as the Flexologist Training Program is accredited by the Institute for Credentialing Excellence, which is based in Washington, DC.
StretchLab offers monthly memberships, which are available for four, eight or 12 visits per month, as well as session-pack stretches.
The Massapequa studio also offers the MAPS machine, a machine that identifies movement inefficiencies across four critical categories: mobility, activation, posture and symmetry. The MAPS score is created utilizing 3D technology to perform a total body movement assessment scan in under 30 seconds, as users perform three body-weight squats. Results are delivered on-screen and via email, which will allow team members to better serve the needs of its diverse members. This creates a customized movement plan and offers a measurable way to see progress in flexibility.
Total investment costs to open a StretchLab range from $162,575 to $333,875, according to the company’s website.
Founded in 2015, StretchLab now has more than 300 locations in 37 states, according to its website. The concept is one of several under the umbrella of Xponential Fitness, an Irvine, Calif.-based franchisor which has more than 10 boutique brands in its portfolio, including StretchLab, Club Pilates, AKT, Yoga Six, Rumble, Pure Barre, Cyclebar, Row House and others.
