Chorley-based international fulfilment services provider, fulfilmentcrowd, is expanding further with a new base in Leicestershire.

It has announced Magna Park, in Lutterworth, as the latest addition to its Fulfilment Partner Network as part of a new partnership with enterprise information management services company, Iron Mountain.

Magna Park is the UK and Europe’s largest dedicated logistics and distribution site, situated within the ‘golden triangle’ where the M1, M6 and M69 motorways meet.

The 503,000 sq ft warehouse space will significantly bolster the company’s growing international Fulfilment Partner Network, offering premium warehouse and storage space at a convenient location for UK and overseas distribution for its growing customer base of more than 400 retail brands.

Benefits include access to all major carriers, late dispatch cut-offs and the ability to reach more than 85% of the UK population within 4.5 hours’ drive. The BREEAM-rated ‘Excellent’ site also prioritises sustainability measures to reduce its carbon footprint.

Paul Taylor, chief operating officer at fulfilmentcrowd, said: “Magna Park is esteemed for its forward thinking approach to warehouse design and sustainability – something that really attracted fulfilmentcrowd to the site.

“The EPC-rated ‘A’ buildings are constructed with energy efficiency in mind, using recycled and recyclable materials, and with rooflights installed that promote ample natural lighting and energy savings of up to 13% each year.”

He added: “We’re continuously looking to expand and strengthen our global partner network with sites that prioritise sustainability and are geographically well placed for retailers to reach their customers more effectively.

“Magna Park is the ideal addition to our portfolio of fulfilment centres and we believe it will provide our customers with a flagship location that will enhance their business and their customers’ experience.”

Phil Shepley, VP commercial UKI at Iron Mountain, said: “We are pleased to offer customers increased operational capability to meet their growth plans and sustainability goals.”

BGF-backed fulfilmentcrowd currently operates centres across the UK, USA, France, Germany and the Netherlands, with plans to expand into other European locations over the next 12 months.
