A Stone business is celebrating one year since moving into bigger premises.
The Artisan Boutique took a leap and relocated from Radford Street into the former Barclays bank on the High Street whilst still recovering from the Covid-19 pandemic.
It was a personal investment for owner Susan Hughes who spent months renovating the site which had stood empty since the bank shut in July 2021.
The Artisan Boutique, which is almost in its fifth year, also underwent a name change to The Artisan Boutique and Kitchen to reflect that the business grew to include a coffee shop.
And since opening on the High Street this aspect has been such as success that it has also recently expanded to meet demand.
Susan explained: “The past year has been a massive learning experience. Not only adapting to a much bigger space but also with the introduction of the coffee shop, which has been a great success.
“We already have a steady stream of regular customers. And the feedback we get on our coffee and food is excellent.”
She added: “We still have a lot to do to settle into the space and we have recently expanded the coffee shop seating area.”
Since moving the business has also added more offerings to its workshops, by introducing regular art and clay sculpting sessions plus an extra day for knit and natter.
But Susan isn’t stopping there: “Moving forwards our current projects are to introduce a paint-a-pot studio and to get our back courtyard area ready for Al fresco seating ready for the warmer weather – hopefully both will open by May this year.”
The Artisan paint-a-pot studio will have space for 24 people and workshops will be held throughout the week.
The business will also be offer interior styling within the next couple of months alongside workshops looking at colour theory, mood boards and design boards so you can learn the skills to take them away with you.
And later this year they are aiming to launch a sewing studio upstairs.
To mark a year since moving into their High Street space, they are offering 10 per cent off all purchases in the shop and for craft supplies (not workshops) between Wednesday, April 12 and Wednesday, April 19 and coffee shop customers will receive a free cupcakes with orders while stocks last from April 12.
