Tech View: Next leg of fall may resume in Nifty. What traders should do on Wednesday

Nifty today ended 61 points lower to form a bearish candle on the daily chart and indicate further weakness from current levels.A decisive move above the hurdle of 19300 could open the next upside target of 19600 levels in the near term. Further weakness from here could find support around 19000-18950 levels, said Nagaraj Shetti of HDFC Securities.OI data showed that on the call side, the highest OI was observed at 19200 followed by 19300 strike prices while on the put side, the highest OI was at 19000 strike price.

Stock Market LIVE Updates | Crypto Price Today: Bitcoin holds above $34,200 ahead of Fed interest rate decision; Solana jumps 10%

The major cryptocurrencies traded higher on Tuesday ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s decision on interest rates scheduled for tomorrow.

Bitcoin was trading 0.18% lower at $34,278, while its largest peer, Ethereum, was trading at $1,797, up 0.44% at around 12.49 p.m.

Meanwhile, the global cryptocurrency market cap surged 0.37% to around $1.27 trillion in the last 24 hours.

Oil rises as supply concerns offset weak China data

Oil prices rebounded in Asian trade on Tuesday, after a drop of more than 3% in the previous session, as worries over supply stirred by conflict in the Middle East offset dismal China data.

December Brent crude futures, set to expire on Tuesday, rose 65 cents, or 0.74%, to stand at $88.10 a barrel by 0637 GMT. The more heavily traded January Brent crude futures climbed 63 cents, or 0.73%，to $86.98.

Asian equities eased on Tuesday, while the yen remained close to a two-week high as traders braced for the Bank of Japan’s policy decision when it is likely to lift its inflation forecasts and ponder tweaks to its bond yield control.

Siemens Energy weighs sale of stake in Indian firm to Siemens -sources

Siemens Energy is considering selling a part of its 24% stake in Indian-listed Siemens Ltd to former parent Siemens AG to shore up its balance sheet, two people familiar with the matter said.
The stake is currently worth around $3.4 billion and a partial sale would be a quick way for the German maker of wind and gas turbines to strengthen its capital base as talks with Berlin and Siemens over guarantees for performance bonds continue.

Shares in Siemens Ltd were down around 4% at 0512 GMT on the news, their lowest level in more than six moths.

In spite of multiple crises, risks and uncertainties the market has been bouncing back smartly as evidenced by the 290 point rally in Nifty in the last two days. Globally, stock markets have refused to discount the West Asian crisis aggravating into a global catastrophe impacting markets. Three signals from the market are significant: one, the dollar index is down 0.40 %; two, crude is down 3%; and three, safe haven buying in gold is limited. The takeaway from these market signals is that the market is climbing all walls of worries and a collapse triggered by geopolitical events is unlikely.

But investors have to be cautious since this is the time of war and unexpected events may happen. Even while remaining cautious investors can slowly accumulate high quality large caps where safety is high. Financials are fairly valued.
