MQ-9A Reaper / General Atomics Aeronautical Systems
The State Department has cleared a potential $611 million foreign military sale of MQ-9A Block 5 unmanned aerial vehicles, manufactured by a General Atomics affiliate, and related equipment to the Netherlands.
The Dutch government asked to buy four modernized MQ-9As with mobile ground control systems, navigation systems, GPS modules, targeting sensors and radars, the Defense Security Cooperation Agency said Friday.
General Atomics‘ aeronautical systems business manufactures the remotely piloted aircraft.
The FMS request also includes spare parts, engineering, logistics and technical documentation support.
DSCA noted the Netherlands plans to use the Block 5 configuration for intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition and reconnaissance missions and air attack and counter maritime operations.
The potential transaction does not require the assignment of additional contractor or government representatives to the foreign country.
