Saturday is Small Business Saturday and St. Clairsville’s downtown shops will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It’s a way to purchase from local merchants, keep the small businesses running, and get some holiday shopping in as the Christmas season approaches.

“Well, it’s tough because, at this point, I think everybody is so conditioned to hop on Amazon or go to the big box store and shop there,” Melting Pot Marketplace vendor Kathy Wood said. “So, it is harder for a small business, especially in a small town.”

As a new store this year, the Melting Pot Marketplace and all other downtown shops are looking forward to an eventful weekend with the community’s support.
