A new partnership has been formed to enable a specialist business finance provider to support more businesses with their expansion plans in Coventry and Warwickshire.

Coventry and Warwickshire Reinvestment Trust (CWRT) has announced an innovative partnership with Governance360 Group.

The collaboration marks the launch of CWRT’s online training academy, which will provide a series of free webinars to educate business owners about financial management and taking on debt.

The academy has been launched in line with the Financial Conduct Authority’s new Consumer Duty and furthers CWRT’s reputation as a responsible lender. It has come at a time when businesses are looking to become more financially resilient, particularly following significant blows to businesses following COVID-19.

The Consumer Duty, implemented on July 31, 2023 for financial services organisations, establishes elevated standards of consumer protection, ensuring consumers receive support, clear communications, and fair value in products and services.

Governance360’s education and workflow platform will extend CWRT’s business support offer to help clients be more confident and continue to prosper in these difficult economic times. The platform will ensure businesses have the right processes in place to secure growth, reduce risks and run their day-to-day operations more effectively.

The platform includes everything from simple director training modules and risk management tools through to a board portal aimed at professionalising and helping directors make better decisions and be more effective.

Clive Bawden, Founder and Director of Governance360, said: “The platform will add value to CWRT’s clients by providing a better understanding of the loans or equity they have taken on board since for many SMEs they will never have done it before, so it is important that they are fully aware of the legal obligations involved as well as understanding the risk and compliance.”

Sheridan Sulskis, CEO of CWRT, said: “CWRT is proud to be partnering with Governance360 to provide our customers with key financial and debt awareness. In the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship, we believe that a well-informed understanding of financial principles empowers business owners to navigate challenges, seize opportunities, and foster resilient enterprises.”

CWRT’s partnership with Governance360 not only signifies its dedication to its clients’ success but also positions CWRT as a key player in advancing local economic prosperity.
