He was presented today for case number 149, following a two-day remand period. For case number 137, the police had initially requested a five-day remand, but the court granted a two-day remand.”

Himachal Pradesh: NH 5 reopens after 10 days

The National Highway (NH) 5 reopened for traffic on Sunday, 10 days after it was blocked due to a massive landslide at Negulsari in Kinnaur district. It was opened for pedestrians in the morning and later one-way traffic was restored, officials said. A large number of vehicles, including trucks carrying apples and peas, were stuck after Kinnaur was cut off from Shimla. People were forced to climb to the top of the old Hindustan-Tibet road to reach the link road from where they had to travel another 5 km to reach the main road.

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) has arrested a Nigerian national from New Delhi in connection with the seizure of cocaine in Mumbai two months ago, an official said on Sunday. The accused, who is allegedly the mastermind of a drug syndicate, was brought to Mumbai on Saturday and produced in court, he said. The DRI had seized 500 gm of cocaine from a courier terminal in June and arrested two persons during a meticulously planned delivery operation in the Nalasopara area.
