SPC’s bakery brand Paris Baguette entered the Canadian market by opening its first store in Toronto on March 22 (local time).

Canada is the 10th overseas country where Paris Baguette has opened a store, and it is a representative market of the English-speaking region known for being the world’s second-largest franchise industry after the United States. Paris Baguette is accelerating its advance into the North American and European markets by expanding to Canada following its entry into the United Kingdom in October of last year.

Paris Baguette had previously first opened a directly managed store when entering overseas markets. But this time it opened its first store in Canada as a franchise. The Korean bakery giant has accumulated expertise by franchising in the United States for a long time. As Paris Baguette has established a local corporation and prepared thoroughly since 2020, it has decided to actively develop the franchise business from the beginning.

Paris Baguette aims to open seven additional stores in Canada within this year and more than 1,000 stores in all of North America by 2030.

The Yonge & Sheppard Store, Paris Baguette’s first store in Canada, is located on the 1st floor of the Yonge Shopping Center on Yonge Street in the central commercial district of Toronto. The 214-square-meter store has 20 seats.
