When we sleep, we enter a realm called “spiritual world.” And in this world, we can dream at any time.
“But there is a God in heaven that revealeth secrets, and maketh known to King Nebuchadnezzar what shall be in the latter days. Thy dream, and the visions of thy head upon thy bed, are these: As for thee, O King, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass,” Daniel 2:28-29.

The dream is a supernatural experience, especially because it comes at a time when you are physically helpless; a time when your spirit is called upon by different sources to relate with you, the information you cannot get while you are physically awake.
Basically, dreams come from three major sources:
• From God
• From the devil
• From man’s own mind.

Dreams can come from God, your mind and from the devil. When it is from God, it is a revelation of a future hidden event. When it is from the devil, it is a nightmare; a strategy to deceive or distract a planned attack of evil. And when it is from your mind, it is a multitude of business or thoughts.

Dreams From God
Dream is one means that God speaks to mankind from ages; it is a confidential way that God Almighty uses to talk to mankind. Dream from God always makes people normal, peaceful and stable. It strengthens our faith in God, encourages and gives comfort. This makes a clear difference of dream from God and dream from the devil.

Dream from God comes through a pure heart; a mind that pants after God’s words and His will. This is why it is very important you guard your heart with all care if you want to receive from God because it takes a right mind to actually receive from God. The mind of man is bigger than the physical world; the mind of man is like a world room that has doors in the spiritual powers. Hence, the need to keep your mind and thoughts positive. “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life,” Proverbs 4:23.

God is a just God and cannot behold iniquity. The iniquity of any form can hinder one from hearing from God through dream and expose one to infiltration through dream by the devil. If you want to continuously hear from God in your dream you must do away with disobedience, envy, unbelief, backbiting and any form of unrighteousness. “Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity…,” Habakkuk 1:13a
He speaks to us through dreams to give purpose, direction, and warning. “When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him,” Matthew 27: 19.
