Highlighting local and regional small business artisans, the inaugural SoMa Christmas Market is scheduled for Small Business Saturday on Nov. 25.
To be held in the SoMa neighborhood in downtown Harrisburg from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., the lineup will include a variety of artists, crafts people, beverage vendors, food trucks, along with live entertainment. Visits with Santa will be an additional highlight for families.
“We’re excited to host this new event in SoMa,” Brad Jones, president and CEO, Harristown Enterprises, said in a statement. “We have put together a great lineup of artists, food and beverage vendors, as well as great live entertainment, and we really hope people will enjoy exploring the SoMa Harrisburg neighborhood for the day.”
SoMa neighborhood retailers will be open in the district. The event will be held rain or shine, but if bad weather is forecast, the event will be moved indoors to Strawberry Square.
Over the past 25 years, Harristown has invested more than $20 million in the SoMa district, which now includes Found Collab, Tamara Boutique, Boneshire Taps @ SoMa, El Sol Mexican Restaurant, Veterans Multi-Service Outreach offices, Happy Home Healthcare, the Harrisburg Soniqs “LAN Gaming Center,” the Narҫisse Theatre Company, and the new UPMC Health Sciences Tower at Harrisburg University.
The SoMa district also includes more than 160 renovated apartments.
