EL PASO, Texas — Amanda’s Art with Heart and main artist, Amanda Cordell, is throwing a rock painting party for Down syndrome awareness on Saturday.

Attendees were able to paint some rocks that were part of a large heart display.

The party took place at Chuck Heinrich Memorial Park in northeast El Paso.

Cordell is an independent 26-year-old- local artist with Down Syndrome who wants to spread awareness during Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.

All proceeds will be given to local Down syndrome organizations.

Organizers also partnered with El Paso Rocks! A Facebook page that likes to spread kindness and goodwill through painting and hiding rocks throughout the Sun City.
