Q: Why did you want to start this kind of business?

A: I have always wanted to be the town doctor where I grew up here in Boiling Springs and serve the local community.

Q: How did you get your start?

A: I have worked for hospital systems in the past and decided about three years ago I wanted to go out on my own. Starting my own practice has taken some courage and comes with its own stressors, but I feel the benefits far outweigh those challenges.

Q: What does your business sell or provide?

A: My practice has three providers: myself and two physician assistants. They are Hayley Norris and Kiersten Betz. We provide primary care for patients of all ages, from newborns to the elderly. We love to get to know people and take care of the whole family. My practice also offers on-site blood draws, heart and lung evaluations, at-home sleep studies and skin procedures.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you are facing right now?

A: Our biggest challenge is getting the care our patients deserve covered by their insurance companies. My staff does a great job of fighting that fight every day, and I am truly proud of them for that.

Q: What is your favorite thing to do or place in Cumberland County?

A: My office is close to the Appalachian Trail and some great parks in the Boiling Springs area. I enjoy a lunch-time run to these areas as a break in my day.
