Small Business Saturday: Empowering Nigerian Entrepreneurs
Nigeria’s consultancy firm, Stage Africa Media & Advisory, has launched a groundbreaking initiative, Small Business Saturday, aimed at bolstering and championing entrepreneurs across the nation. This quarterly program is poised to equip business owners with invaluable resources, strategic guidance, and key insights to help them navigate and conquer the fiercely competitive market.
Small Business Saturday: An Empowerment Initiative
According to Omotoyosi Ajayi, the founder and principal consultant of Stage Africa Media & Advisory, Small Business Saturday is designed to deliver practical, actionable strategies tailored to mitigate common challenges encountered by entrepreneurs. The focus isn’t merely on imparting theoretical knowledge but also on providing entrepreneurs with strategies that can be instantly implemented to catalyze growth and success in their businesses.
Comprehensive Support for Entrepreneurs
The initiative will comprehensively cover key aspects crucial for business success. These range from financial management, operational efficiency, and strategic planning to growth marketing strategies. Furthermore, it will delve into digital skills essential for business growth, strategic communications, brand positioning, and personal branding solutions for founders and executives.
Simultaneous Entrepreneurship Programs
In a parallel development, the Tony Elumelu Foundation is accepting applications for the 2024 edition of the TEFconnect entrepreneurship program. This initiative’s objective is to empower African youths to become entrepreneurs. Since its inception in 2010 by Nigerian investor Tony Elumelu, the foundation has empowered at least 9000 young entrepreneurs and is active in all 54 African countries. The 2024 edition aims to train and fund 2000 candidates.
Successful candidates from TEFconnect will receive corporate training, mentoring, non-refundable start-up capital of up to $5,000, and global networking opportunities. The program is open to entrepreneurs from across Africa, whether start-ups or existing young businesses operating in any sector.
While both initiatives share a common goal of empowering entrepreneurs, the Small Business Saturday program by Stage Africa Media & Advisory focuses on entrepreneurs within Nigeria, providing them with a more localized and tailored support system.
