Cast A Memory, in Halstead, offers professional keepsake services for residents grieving the loss of a loved person or pet. 

Small business owner Sharon Dixey has been making personalised keepsakes for more than 13 years. 

Over the years, Sharon has declined to offer bereavement castings for the recently deceased, but Rachel, who had suddenly lost her husband, helped to develop a new service, which is now available for residents across Essex.

Sharon said: “Rachel’s circumstance was heartbreaking, and I felt compelled to help.

“Hearing her being so appreciative, I saw how much this meant for grieving families, and I decided to start offering the service.

“Rachel decided she also wanted to do this for others and asked to work with me.

“I now travel over Essex doing bereavement castings at funeral directors.

“The feedback I have had from the families is amazing, It can be very difficult at times and rather stressful, but the comfort it brings to the loved ones of the deceased keeps me going.”
