The inaugural meeting of the Trade Promotion Mission organized by the the Sri Lanka – Malaysia Business Council of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce took place with the Sri Lankan High Commission in Malaysia.

Retired Air Chief Marshal Sumangala Dias, the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Malaysia, addressed the delegates on the coordination and support the High Commission could offer for Sri Lankan businesses as well as tourists. He expressed admiration for the exceptional support provided by the Malaysian Government towards employment opportunities. He underscored his commitment to assisting and collaborating with companies in their endeavors.

President M.H.K.M Hameez, representing the Sri Lanka – Malaysia Business Council, seized the opportunity to discuss the importance of export expansion from Sri Lanka.

He also advocated for high-level investments in the Port City and encouraged the growth of tourism to the breathtaking island of Sri Lanka.

This meeting marked a significant step towards strengthening business ties between Sri Lanka and Malaysia. The Sri Lanka – Malaysia Business Council trade delegation anticipates further collaborative efforts, fostering economic growth, trade, and investment between the two nations.
