KAnSAS CITY — New formulations of dips are making their way to retail locations across the United States.

Hummus company Sabra is adding two plant-based garlic spreads that are making their way to Target locations. The dips, which are available in spicy harissa and roasted garlic varieties, are inspired by traditional Mediterranean flavors and contain no dairy or artificial preservatives.  The plant-based white dips are the latest products to join Sabra’s lineup, after the company added three flavors, including a Frank’s RedHot Buffalo hummus, last month.

“We’re thrilled to launch another big flavor innovation in dips,” said Olu Diyaolu, global chief research, development and sustainability officer at Sabra. “Sabra’s Mediterranean garlic dips were crafted from a place of food passion and a determination to delight dip lovers with outstanding taste, vibrant herbs, spices and a creamy, satisfying texture. The roasted garlic and harissa dips deliver such a rich and bold flavor, that they instantly jazz up everything from chips and veggies to salads and fish dishes. If you’ve been eating the same white dip your entire life and are ready for something new, we think you’ll savor the flavor of the Mediterranean and retire the rest.”

Plant-based dairy brand Miyoko’s Creamery has debuted a line of cheese spreads formulated from cashew milk.

The spreads are made using traditional cheesemaking techniques and are kosher, certified organic and free from soy, palm oil and gluten. Miyoko’s product can act as a flexible topping option for various snacks, an alternative dairy ingredient to blend into sauces or an easy flavor enhancement for homecooked meals, according to the company.

“As Americans continue to actively look for ways to reduce meat and dairy consumption, the spreads are a perfect next step in our product development as we continue to strive to bring fresh excitement into the category,” said Rebecca Infusino, chief customer officer at Miyoko’s Creamery.

Sour cream and cottage cheese brand Daisy debuted sour cream dips, an offering that features a blend of herbs and spices and the brand’s sour cream. They are available in two flavors: French onion, which has a caramelly-toasted onion and garlic flavor, and creamy ranch, which features a blend of spices and garlic.

“Daisy Dips are delicately blended to deliver a creamy, dynamic flavor that is so fresh you would swear they were made from scratch,” said Erik Christensen, director of marketing. “We are excited for consumers to now be able to dip a dollop with Daisy.”
