KANSAS CITY — With 2023 new year’s resolutions made, retail companies are debuting better-for-you snacking options.

Plant-based dip company Good Foods added to its portfolio with a roasted garlic dip, suitable for snacking or adding to meals. The new dip is made with a blend of garlic, tahini and lemon and has 70 calories per serving, according to the company.

“This savory dip perfectly blends delicious taste and better-for-you benefits, especially for those refocusing and reprioritizing healthier snacking habits in the new year,” said Briana Voss, senior director of omni-channel marketing for Good Foods. “We’ve made this versatile and flavorful, plant-based dip with every lifestyle in mind.”

Just Pure Foods launched its tomato chips in the new year, which are gluten-free, vegan and allergen-free chips made from dehydrated tomatoes. The keto-friendly snack is available in three flavors: spicy jalapeño, cheese and barbecue.

“Besides boosting your metabolism, tomatoes contain important nutrients and anti-inflammatory compounds,” said Scott Feldman, founder of Just Pure Foods. “Neither baked nor fried, our chips are low-temperature dried to keep enzymes and nutrients intact. Each package has only 50 or 60 delicious and nutritious calories.”

Ben & Jerry’s added a certified-vegan flavor to its lineup with oatmeal dream pie, which made its debut in the new year.

“Foodie fans can rejoice this new version of our nostalgic offering,” said Chris Rivard, flavor guru at Ben & Jerry’s and who helped to shepherd the project with Partake. “We’re thrilled to partner with high-end suppliers who provide the incredible chunks and swirls fans expect from Ben & Jerry’s, and this flavor truly delivers.”

The non-dairy flavor features gluten-free oatmeal cookies from Black- and woman-owned allergy-friendly company Partake and marshmallow swirls.

“The chance to work with Ben & Jerry’s is an Oatmeal Dream come true,” said Denise Woodard, founder and chief executive officer of Partake. “As fellow champions of inclusivity and good food doing good, Ben & Jerry’s has long been on at the top of our list to partner. We are thrilled to join them in freezers across America by providing our one-of-a-kind oatmeal cookies.”
