Singapore hosted the Digital Economy Summit, as part of a series of events under the Global Digital Economy Conference for 2023, which China is preparing to hold from July 4 to 7.
Despite the summit being Chinese, Singapore hosted the preliminary forum as the guest of honor, marking the first time the Global Digital Economy Conference has designated a guest of honor.
The summit was held under the theme “Collaboration and innovation together in the blue ocean of the digital economy”, with the aim of exploring opportunities for collaboration in the digital economy.
Experts and company representatives discussed topics such as digital economic models, digital governance, information security, digital trade, the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Southeast Asia, and the exchange of professional ideas and business practices.
The creation of a Singapore branch of the Global Digital Economy Conference for this year is a new measure to deepen the diplomatic achievements of the two heads of state and to open a “comprehensive, high-quality, future-oriented partnership” between China and Singapore, as well as a new platform for exchanges and cooperation between the two countries in the digital economy.
The forum focuses on the digital economy, scientific and technological innovation, green transformation, social governance, financial services, and other fields.
It also discusses the direction and law of digital economic development, promotes international exchanges and industrial cooperation in the digital field, and takes an important step in building a “circle of friends” for the global digital economy.
As one of the signatory countries to the Digital Economy Partnership Agreement, Singapore has unique advantages in developing the digital economy.
