Singapore Airlines is to launch its third route from the UK by introducing flights from London Gatwick next summer.

The carrier, which already operates flights from London Heathrow and Manchester to Changi airport, will add Gatwick-Singapore services from 22 June 2024.

The new route will operate five times per week and will increase the airline’s services from the UK to Singapore to 38 per week. Singapore Airlines already operates four daily flights from Heathrow and flies five times per week from Manchester.

Mohamed Rafi Mar, Singapore Airlines’ general manager for the UK and Ireland, said: “We are excited to announce London Gatwick as our third UK gateway offering customers more choice to Southeast Asia and beyond.”

Flights from Gatwick will operate on Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, while services from Singapore will fly on Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The route will be served by Airbus A350-900 aircraft fitted with three cabins: economy (187 seats), premium economy (24 seats) and business (42 seats).

Gatwick’s CEO Stewart Wingate said of the new route: “It showcases the high regard in which Gatwick is held and connecting to the impressive Changi airport is a big boost for the whole region.

“The new route will provide huge connectivity potential, not only to the fantastic destination of Singapore but more widely across Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand.”
