Alvarez & Marsal has boosted its Tax division in South East Asia with Shantini Ramachandra, who joins with more than 25 years of international tax experience.
Operating out of Singapore, Shantini Ramachandra has been appointed a Managing Director and ASEAN Lead for Alvarez & Marsal’s Tax division. She leads a team of tax professionals in multiple offices across the region.
“Tax is an integral part of our full-service offering for both our corporate and private equity clients,” said Utsav Garg, Managing Director and Head of the SEAA region. “Shantini’s professional caliber enhances our credibility in the Singapore and broader ASEAN markets.”
Ramachandra joins Alvarez & Marsal from Deloitte, where she was a partner in its Tax business and SEA Tax Leader for Deloitte’s mid-market business. She specializes in international tax and private client services issues, and works with clients across multiple industries.
Also specialised in work relating to mergers & acquisitions, Ramachandra has played a role in buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence, deal structuring, post-deal integration and financing structures for corporates and private equity firms. Other areas where she has experience in include dispute resolution, estate planning and wealth preservation, and developing efficient vehicles for inbound and outbound investments.

Ramachandra earned an LLB from the National University of Singapore and an LLM from the University of London, King’s College. She is an Accredited Tax Advisor with the Singapore Chartered Tax Professionals.
